Cam 3rd XI faced a tough challenge in their recent match against Tetbury 3rds, ending with a 47-run defeat despite their best efforts. The match took place at Tetbury, and Cam chose to field after winning the toss.
Tetbury set a target of 223/4 in 40 overs, testing Cam’s bowlers who put in a spirited effort. Benjamin Holloway stood out with his economical bowling, taking two key wickets for just 14 runs in 5 overs.
In response, Cam fought hard with Drew Holmes leading the charge, scoring 45 runs off 59 balls, supported by Martin Booth with 23 runs. Vice-captain Alex Evans contributed crucially with a timely six close to the end of the innings and Ethan Matthews added a highlight by hitting a boundary off the last ball, securing extra batting points for the team.
Despite these efforts, Tetbury’s bowlers maintained pressure, restricting Cam to 176/9 in their 40 overs.
Looking forward, Cam 3rds remain optimistic as they prepare for their next challenge against Chalford at Stone this Saturday. We are counting on strong support from the Cam community to boost morale and cheer the team on. The team is determined to bounce back and continue their journey towards success in the upcoming matches.
